Ed Schiel is senior vice president of commercial operations for American Nevada Co., a Greenspun company that specializes in the design and development of commercial properties and master-planned communities. Schiel has more than 23 years of experience in commercial real estate and is responsible for all aspects of the operations of American Nevada’s vast existing commercial portfolio, including office, retail, light industrial, medical office, hotel and multifamily properties, as well as the development of new projects. He oversees the functions of the company’s commercial leasing, property management, construction and marketing departments. Prior to joining American Nevada in 2006, Schiel held the position of vice president of real estate for Integrated Properties Inc. in Denver, Colo., since 1994. There, he was responsible for commercial operations including acquisition, development, leasing, asset management and disposition of office, medical office, retail and flex space. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1994, he was in commercial brokerage with the Denver office of Grubb & Ellis. Schiel was an Evans Scholar and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business (finance and real estate) from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1986. He holds the designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member and is a member of the local chapter of NAIOP and Urban Land Institute.
