Charles W. Van Geel is vice president of commercial leasing operations for American Nevada Co., a Greenspun company that specializes in the design and development of master planned communities and commercial properties. Van Geel oversees all commercial leasing activities for American Nevada’s office and retail portfolios. He also assists with direction of the marketing strategy for the company’s commercial properties, coordination of activities with outside brokers and business planning. Van Geel joined American Nevada in April 1999 as director of business development/office leasing and, in 2003, was elevated to the position of senior director of office leasing. In July 2004, he was promoted to senior director of commercial leasing, and, in 2006, he was promoted to vice president, overseeing the company’s office, retail and flex-space leasing activities. Prior to joining American Nevada, Van Geel was vice president of client services for Nevada Development Authority from March 1997 to June 1998. Previous to that, he held the positions of senior research analyst and research manager for the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, from October 1993 to June 1998. Van Geel holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Nevada, Reno. He is an active member of the CCIM Institute, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, International Council of Shopping Centers and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
