Francisco Javier Moncada
Boulder City Police seized 5 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop Tuesday night and arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with attempting to transport a controlled substance.
Francisco Javier Moncada was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he is being held on $10,000 bail.
Officers stopped the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier for an equipment violation about 10:30 p.m. and noticed it had an out-of-state registration, police said. After speaking with Moncada, officers believed he and two juvenile passengers could be trafficking an illegal substance, police said.
The three occupants of the vehicle were interviewed and gave officers consent to search the vehicle, authorities said. Police found two hidden compartments in the car, which contained five packages of meth, weighing a total of about 5 pounds.
Boulder City Police impounded the vehicle. The two juvenile passengers were taken to Clark County Family and Youth Services.

my meth!
Sadly, a drop in a very large bucket
Call out the professional protesters.....this could be racial profiling!
held on 10,000 bail for over 100,000 worth of dope seems fair!
"The two juvenile passengers were taken to Clark County Family and Youth Services." Wondering what the 'priors' were on these two misguided 'peer pressured' little darlings are.
10 K bail, come on, the cops do all the work and the lenient judge allows this illegal to run back to the hood. Someone will post it. 10K bail is a thousand bucks. I saw the stop when I was coming home and the car was a piece of mierda.
DCDave, I agree. At the time of this post, this guy has booked and won't be seen anytime soon. Bail should be set at least twice the amount the seized drugs are worth.
5 pounds is alot of meth. This won't be racial profiling because it happen at 10:30 at night and the officers did see who they were stopping. I agree bail should be set at the amount of the drugs seized.
I am so sick to death of all this crying over so-called 'racial profiling'. Ya know what folks, if the shoe fits - wear it! And if it doesn't then get over it. The Government and all the 'special interest' groups get so caught up in all this 'politcally correct' BS and what-not (racial profiling being another) that they become more concerned about the welfare of ILLEGALS than they do of this countrys' own legal citizens. I, for one, am quite sick to death of it all. If ya haven't done anything wrong - if ya don't have anything to hide then who cares if ya get pulled over - deal with it.
azsk8fan.........Well said and I totally agree.
Ay carumba!!
Francisco Javier Moncada
hmmm...probably not a member of the tea party.
i mean, according to pelosi and reid, the tea party people are the real dangerous ones.
Let the cops be cops, not wet nurses for illegals. Let the soldiers be soldiers.
Yep, azsk8fan is right on target. Some profiling is necessary to catch the perps. Let's face it, most little old ladies and soccer moms are not dealing drugs or committing terrorist acts. I get my carry ons searched about every 10-12 flights. My Lebanese US-born friend gets screened about every other flight and has been since the early 80s. He's cool with it and says it's better to be cautious.
This guy is just another bum who won't work a real job in life. He would rather sit in jail like a big kid. "LOSER"
Let's be careful out there, people! Remember, the first rule in dope transport is "don't commit more than one crime at a time" Good job to BCPD. Education is key to the drug problem. It starts with me. Donate a book to the jail, save a life. I just hope that was for personal use.
Considering Boulder City is Southern Nevadas hub for cocaine, I wonder if this guy wasn't on something.
Nick is a moron; whatever his point is is lost on me. The story is about 5 lbs of meth, not whatever political point of view that gets Dave his thrills.
See nice picture of the drug dealer (gross)..but not the realtors arrested.
