Vegas DeLuxe contributing photographers were in nonstop action all weekend long as they captured the sights, sounds and scenes of the cavalcade of concerts that rocked Las Vegas and had audiences doubled over with laughter.
DENIS LEARY
Denis Leary brought his Rescue Me Comedy Tour 2 to The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and performed music with his band The Enablers and The Rehab Horns along with his standup. Instead of doing a standard media tour for his F/X series Rescue Me’s new season, Denis said he wanted to do something more fun and reach fans through this comedy tour.
Cast members performed standup, as well, and a long trailer for Rescue Me opened the show. Contributing photographer Erik Kabik told VegasDeLuxe.com: “I caught up with Denis backstage for a few shots after his performance, and he was totally enthused about the entire night and The Joint venue.”
DAVE ATTELL
*Insomniac comedian Dave Attell was wide awake at Phil Ruffin’s Treasure Island for his show, and Dave, who wanders the late-night and pre-dawn streets of cities for his routines, said he always loves visiting here because he gets so much material from the hours of darkness.
Dave was here for January’s Adult Entertainment Expo and AVN Awards and said he’d love to return to play with and for the porn stars. Thanks to Brian Jones of Las Vegas News Bureau for the photo.
INSANE CLOWN POSSE
*Contributing photographer Scott Harrison had exactly 60 seconds to get his close-up stage shots of Insane Clown Posse with Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J when they were at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay.
That’s because one minute into the act, the clowns opened liters of soda to continually spray the audience during their set. Not wanting to risk ruining expensive camera equipment and lenses, Scott shot -- and then split safely.
PEPPER
It was a nonstop, start-to-finish party when Hawaii rockers Pepper rocked the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel. Photographer Erik Kabik said: “The place was packed for the highly energetic show, and the howling winds rolling through Las Vegas added to the surreal scene.
“It’s become a tradition to have Pepper perform at Hard Rock Hotel’s poolside shows, and they get wilder every year. Adult film star and reality TV personality Ron Jeremy, who is a friend and fan of the band, was there to introduce the band.”
Vegas DeLuxe will continue to bring readers the best photos and coverage of the incredible weekend concerts throughout the summer.
