Sun solidifying political reporting team

A new era in Nevada journalism begins this week. For the first time, a Las Vegas newspaper has also assigned political correspondents to Carson City and Reno. With the addition of Anjeanette Damon, a veteran political scribe who joined the Las Vegas Sun on Monday from the Reno Gazette-Journal, the newspaper now has reporters with the best sources in the state. Damon, who will also provide analysis for KRNV-TV in Reno, has broken many big stories in Nevada during the past few years. Along with David McGrath Schwartz, one of the best young reporters in the state, and Cy Ryan, the dean of the state’s press corps, in Carson City, the Sun’s roster is unmatched. And joining the Sun next month is Delen Goldberg, the New York state government reporter for the Syracuse Post-Standard. In a political year that will be like no other, permit me to burst with pride just to be associated with these folks.
