The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a 54-year-old man killed in a motorcycle crash May 30 on Sahara Avenue as Raymond Graan of Las Vegas.
Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Fackrell said Graan was riding a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling east on Sahara approaching the Interstate 15 northbound off-ramp about 6 a.m. when he collided with a silver Kia Sephia.
The car entered the intersection on a red light and the motorcycle struck the left side of the Kia, Fackrell said. Graan was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office said he died of blunt force trauma as a result of the collision.
Authorities said the driver and passenger of the Kia ran from the scene but were quickly apprehended. The 25-year-old man driving the car was arrested and charged with DUI involving alcohol or drugs after a blood test, Fackrell said.
The Nevada Highway Patrol isn’t releasing the name of the driver because the crash is under investigation.
