Metro Police have arrested a 26-year-old Las Vegas man in connection with the June 1 shooting death of a man at an apartment complex west of the Stratosphere.
Herbie Moore was booked into the Clark County Detention Center in connection with murder with a deadly weapon and two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon. The attempted murder charges stem from Moore allegedly shooting two women during the incident.
Metro Lt. Lew Roberts said police received a 911 call about 8:30 p.m. June 1 that there had been a shooting in the 300 block of West Cleveland Avenue. He said officers arrived and found 25-year-old Patrick Beverly dead with multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities also found two women who had been shot and transported them to University Medical Center, Roberts said.
It is unknown what initiated the shooting, but Roberts said it is believed there was a dispute involving the victims.
Detectives were searching for Moore after he was seen fleeing the area, police said.
Court records show Moore has been on probation since April 2009 for attempted possession of a stolen vehicle.
I still want to see someone charged with murder with a non-deadly weapon. Investigating Officer: Yes, he seems to have been Nerfed to death.
If there is a dispute bring a gun that will fix it.
I think hangings at a town square, say Fremont Street are in order. Teach crime does not pay. The police always have those banged up cars to teach don't drive drunk, so public hangings may make a few of these shooters slow it down. At the moment it does not appear there is any real deterrent to all of the shootings going on around town, yes? They could hang of few of the baby rape and kid killer parents also. Thinking it will take a WOW factor to make these crazies think twice..

Go figure, who would've accepted anything else? He is just another reason why liberals should be permanently removed. This guy is a prime example of the l liberal party voting pool, they created this generation, and we stuck having to deal with their leftovers.

The Stratosphere's biggest drawback is that when you leave the parking garage, this is the neighborhood you have to drive through. Kind of Scarry for a lot of people. One thug is dead, another headed to prison, that's 2 more we don't have to worry about. A cop buddy of mine used to refer to these as a "good murder".
sandy, your comment is well taken. Kind of like the way only some guns (9mm, .45, etc) are referred to as assult weapons, while a .22 isn't. Any gun is an assult weapon when it is used to shoot (assult) someone.
What is "attempted possession of a stolen vehicle"?
