Tropicana announces deal to offer mobile gaming

Thursday, June 10, 2010 | 6:41 p.m.

The Tropicana soon will be bringing in some new technology to match the resort’s updated look.

The hotel-casino announced a partnership with gaming technology company Cantor Gaming to bring mobile gaming to its new race and sports book. The device will allow bettors to wager on sporting events, as well as play casino games such as blackjack and baccarat.

Cantor said in a release today that its wagering technology processes transactions in milliseconds, enabling people to place their wagers directly from their seats at any time during a sporting event.

Mobile gaming will be available in Tropicana’s new race and sports book, which will have direct access from Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. The new sports book is part of the resort’s $165 million transformation and is expected to be completed in the fall.

The mobile technology also will be offered throughout bars, lounges, restaurants and the new pool area.

Cantor Gaming recently partnered with the Palazzo, M Resort and Hard Rock to bring mobile wagering technology to their sports books.
