Titus, Heck to face off in U.S. House race

Tuesday, June 8, 2010 | 8:16 p.m.

Democratic Rep. Dina Titus will face Republican Joe Heck in November in Nevada's 3rd District House race.

Emergency room physician Heck easily topped a field of four candidates.

Titus faced only token opposition. She is the first Democrat to represent the swing district that runs through suburban Las Vegas.

Heck lost his re-election bid for his state Senate seat to a relatively unknown Democrat in 2008 when Titus and other Democrats were swept to victory in 2008 behind President Barack Obama.
