File this in the “please don’t help” category: Scandalized Sen. John Ensign had this to say, according to Reno’s KTVN, during a rural tour last week about the GOP primary for U.S. Senate: “I’ll support whoever comes out of it, and we’ll see. It’s been a spirited campaign, like the primary has been … I’m going to let the Republican primary voters decide.” Although a couple of the contenders early in the race expressed a willingness to embrace Ensign’s backing, after the primary, whoever wins surely will have a message for the junior senator: “Lose my number.”
