Power outage

About 150 NV Energy customers were stuck in triple-digit temperatures without power after a car hit a pole in eastern Las Vegas on Saturday.

NV Energy spokesman Kevin Rademacher said the accident happened about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Sandhill Road, just west of Interstate 515.

Crews were on scene trying to restore power, Rademacher said.

Temperatures reached 107 degrees in Las Vegas on Saturday, the hottest day of the year so far, and are could climb higher Sunday and Monday.
