Rebels Football:

UNLV football to play on ESPN next fall

The UNLV football team this fall will play on an ESPN network for the first time since 2005.

The Rebels' Sept. 18 game at Idaho has been selected to be televised by ESPNU, the school announced Wednesday. Idaho's Western Athletic Conference has a television deal with the network.

UNLV's last ESPN-televised game also was against a WAC school, when the Rebels played at Nevada-Reno in 2005.

UNLV will appear on television 11 times in 2010, mostly on The Mtn., which has the rights to all Mountain West Conference home games.

The Rebels could have another game on ESPN, with television for road contests against Hawaii of the WAC and West Virginia of the Big East Conference still being determined. Both leagues have broadcast deals with ESPN.
