Glitch that delayed payment of Nevada jobless benefits fixed

Updated Wednesday, June 2, 2010 | 4:52 p.m.

CARSON CITY – A delay in posting unemployment checks to the accounts of an estimated 100,000 Nevadans has been cured.

Cynthia Jones, administrator of the state Employment Security Department, said there was a 14-hour delay before the payments were made.

She said ACS, the vendor of the system, would have the payments posted by 7 p.m. tonight. About 95 percent of the benefit payments are made using the debit card system that was affected.
