Coroner identifies man killed in Tuesday night shooting

Shooting

A man who was shot to death Tuesday night west of the Stratosphere after an apparent dispute among several people has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as 25-year-old Patrick Beverly of Las Vegas.

Lt. Lew Roberts said police received a 911 call about 8:30 p.m. that there had been a shooting in the 300 block of West Cleveland Avenue. He said officers arrived at the scene and found Beverly dead of multiple gunshot wounds. The coroner’s office has ruled his death a homicide.

Authorities also found two women who had been shot, Roberts said. Both were taken to University Medical Center, where one was in critical condition and the other's condition was stable, police said.

It is unknown what initiated the shooting, but Roberts said it is believed there was a dispute involving the victims. Detectives were searching for a fourth person who was seen fleeing the area, Roberts said.

That person is described as a black man last seen wearing a white tank top and black shorts. He is about 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, police said.
