Crash location

A man was critically injured Wednesday when a van headed south on Valley View Boulevard attempted to make a right turn from the left lane in front of his car, Metro Police said.

The vehicles collided about 2 p.m., just south of West El Camino Street, police said.

The driver of the 2000 Honda Civic, Samuel Henriquez-Marquez, 23, of Las Vegas was taken to University Medical Center with what a police spokesman said were possible life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the 1996 Dodge Caravan, Carlos Rodriguez, 21, of Las Vegas was not injured, police said.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate the van was headed south in the left lane and the car was headed south in the right lane when the van turned right into a private drive, police said.

The car ran into the right side of the van as it crossed in front of the car, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
