One man was killed and two women were injured in a shooting at an apartment complex Tuesday night west of the Stratosphere, Metro Police said.

Lt. Lew Roberts said police received a 911 call about 8:30 p.m. that there had been a shooting in the 300 block of West Cleveland Avenue. He said officers arrived at the scene and found a man dead of multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities also found two women who had been shot, Roberts said.

The two women were taken to University Medical Center, where one was in critical condition and the other was stable, police said.

It is unknown what initiated the shooting, but Roberts said it is believed there was a dispute involving the victims. Detectives were searching for a fourth person who was seen fleeing the area, Roberts said.

That person is described as a black man last seen wearing a white tank top and black shorts. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, police said.

This is the 54th homicide of the year in the Metro Police jurisdiction.
