'Suspicious' fire
Sun Coverage
An arson-related fire caused about $100,000 damage overnight to a home in Henderson, according to fire officials.
The fire cause was determined to be suspicious in nature and possibly arson-related, firefighters said. There were no injures to firefighters or anyone at the home, authorities said. The blaze was the third 'suspicious' Henderson home fire in two days.
Firefighters said they responded to a report of a workshop on fire at 1:13 a.m. at 241 Honeywood Street, which is in the Green Valley area near Valle Verde Drive and Windmill Parkway.
A passerby reported the fire by 911 and then notified the homeowner to evacuate the structure, firefighters said.
Firefighters said when they arrived, they found that the attached storage shed was on fire and that the blaze had spread into the attic space of the home.
Firefighters said heat from the blaze had broken out the windows on the home next to the fire. They said they had the fire extinguished in about 15 minutes.

Ok we have an arsonist, obviously, and i hope that another fire doesn't happen today. We need to catch the individual(s) and lock 'em up! It's hot enough in Vegas without house fires intentionally set.
I live just a couple houses down from this. Someone had been setting trees on fire every couple of months for about the last two years in our neighborhood. Despite the whole neighborhood keeping an eye out for them, starting a neighborhood watch and having police increasing patrols, we've not caught them.
We were afraid it was going to escalate like this, and obviously now it has. It is extremely frustrating and frightening not knowing what else you can do.
This looks to be the work of a serial juvenile arsonist. Start there HFD.
Does anyone know how close this location is to the other one? I was thinking serial arsonist, too, especially if the two houses are in proximity of one another. I am not positive, but didn't they say the other one was suspicious as well? Just curious...
There's another report from Friday (in this paper) that states that "Firefighters are calling two overnight house fires "suspicious'"!! So does that mean this makes THREE? I am not very familiar with the Henderson/ Green Valley area so I just want to make sure I processed everything correctly. Sun Staff?? Anyone? Thanks.
I agree with getalife... I instantly thought "bored juveniles". (I'm not bashing juveniles, it just seems really immature if it is a serial arsonist.)
Yes, there were 3 total. The other two aren't in the same neighborhood. They're about 2 miles away on the other side of 215 from here.
Maybe it was Boom-Boom of the X_MEN... I hear they are unemployed with nothing better to do......
