Ruthe named to medical examiners board

Friday, July 30, 2010 | 6:47 a.m.

CARSON CITY – Gov. Jim Gibbons has named Donna Ruthe, a real estate executive in Las Vegas, to the state Board of Medical Examiners that regulates doctors.

The governor also reappointed Van Hefner of Las Vegas to the board. He has served since the middle of 2008.

Ruthe succeeds Rene West who has resigned from the board effective in August. The governor said Ruthe would resign from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency to take the medical examiners position.

Gibbons also named his chief of staff Robin Reedy, who lives in Douglas County, to the Tahoe agency to succeed Ruthe. The agency works to preserve the beauty of the Tahoe Basin from over development.
