Scurvy pirate after his booty
Times are tough, I say tough, in Vegas. I heard Somali Pirates are now managing the TI. You now bad it is here? They had to put an Indian reservation on a casino. It's so tough here, the gangs are giving up their turf! It's tough I tell ya...
T.S.
Great Ruins of Las Vegas
Its stories such as this that just make my day.No one got hurt, and the house got theres!I wonder how they feel getting ripped off??? The univerise tends to unfold as it should...............
This would never happen if the Mob were still in control.
That "man" was the fired ex-MGM executive who gave away TI to Phil R.
He was trying to get even.

How brazen and desperate do you have to be to take the risk of robbing a casino cage?
I wonder how he got out of the building without getting caught?
That's a pretty daring stunt.
So, the Orleans and Treasure Island have been robbed....which casino is next? It will happen, folks are desperate, really, really hurting. Wish we could all come together instead of hurting each other. So very sad, our state of the world today.
Again I am mystified as to how someone gets away with robbing a casino cage in this day and age of video surveilance , armed security guards???? What is the deal? Brings to mind the three examples shown in the remade Ocean's Eleven Movie.. Just unbelievable!
I read an article yesterday put out by the AP that showed how the 5 casinos in Pa. paid more in taxes to the state of Pa. then the 260 casinos in Nevada paid in taxes. What's wrong with this picture.

"I wonder how he got out of the building without getting caught?"
Because he had a gun and casino security had radios and handcuffs? It isn't like they arm those minimum wage jokers or anything.
Its called poor casino layout first of all.. At T.I. the cage is right by the front door leading out to the strip. Stick em up then head on out. Who's going to stop them? The 300lb, 5'1, female security guard or the 84 year old one that gets winded after walking 25 feet?? I remember the days when Security was as feared as the people that ran/skimmed the joints. Security guards used to be big brick walls of men that looked like they meant business. You didnt F with them. Not like now though. Now it's laughable.
Who Cares.TI will do anything for publicity. It was probably Donald Trump!
First: Guards make 11 per hour. Not enought to confront anyone.
Second: The rules are "observe and report" only, not observe and tackle.
Third: Robber waited for 3/4 of the cops to be at the governors funeral to rob the casino.
Corporations only care about the bottom line. Losses from robbery are probably covered by insurance. Hire those bone crushing mob types and you could be looking at some major liability issues.
Maybe after a few more high profile hits, these cheap bastards might start to spend some serious money on professional security people.
Environ,
just to let you know, they are NOT ARMED, "State Law",prohibits this.
they only carry batons, and cuffs, they don't even carry pepper spray, or taser's.
Too many lawsuits involved if they miss the "perp".
BUT it still baffles me too, how in this day and age they get away with it. They deserve what comes they're way, and lucky this is not the 60's-80's, they would be put in a hole.
Sounds like he timed it right before a shift change and before the nightly cash drops. And he probably knew that security staffing would be light on a Monday night. Doubt it was an impulse robbery.
What? Turnabout isn't fair play? Maybe he was taking out an advance on his next winnings....
I'll bet he had a patch over his left eye and a nasty scare trailing down his face from under the patch. Am I close ?
Congrats to the perp... turnabout is fair play.
I bet if he was just taking pictures they would've backroomed him.
Does anyone care about the people working at TI and Mirage that had to face this crime? TI is just a business. A casino is just a building. An employee is, at least, someones child. All this glib chat trying to pass as wit is not worth the pixels it's printed on. Is compassion so out of fashion and what does that say about you and your mama?
@ rumrunner- no one got hurt? The house got theirs? Ever been threatened by a stranger? Did it hurt you or anyone who loved you? Ever see a company pass their costs onto consumers?
@ denro & environprotector- a pretty daring stunt? Stunts aren't real. This isn't just like in the movies and it isn't clever to think so.
@ chazbean & etc. - was that the best you could do?
People! Is there no place else you can direct your free time and cynicism? How about directing it at congress?
just to let you know, they are NOT ARMED, "State Law",prohibits this.
Oh ya..Go downtown and they a packing heat...
All you lunatic bloggers have this all wrong! They were filming the NEW Ocean's 14 movie this is the scene where Brad Pitt shoves his desert eagle gat right into the overworked and underemployed casino cage worker mug and say's give me all your dough baby before I bust a cap in your ass, then feeling remorseful Brad later returns the loot and makes out with the chick, awesome.
I guess Ruffin forgot to take care of"THE RIGHT PEOPLE"....You gotta pay for protection in this town...Mob,LDS,County Commissioners etc...
@ tomhein - you are incorrect. State Law does not prohibit security guards from being armed. Venetian has armed Security, along with many other casinos in town.
Thanks for playing.
security cameras should show what he looks like; probably dressed in a guards uniform, the perfect getaway.
I think it was Harry Reid funding his campaign funds.
So sad to see what Las Vegas is becoming. We were there a year ago and NEVER NEVER AGAIN. The city bragged on ''WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS" ..trucks with porn type billboards up and down the strip relentlessly, illegals roaming the streets day and night pestering people trying to give them prostitution ads and sell drugs. AND LAS VEGAS THOUGHT PEOPLE WOULDNT QUIT COMING THERE?? SURPRISE SURPRISE..HEY, KEEP YOUR ILLEGALS...KEEP YOUR PORN AND YOUR DRUGS ALL OVER THE STRIP..WE NOW VACATION ELSEWHERE!
@ tomhein - You, my friend, are spewing nonsense. There are no state laws against casino security being armed. It's all about liability, if the property wants to pay for that insurance and deal with any possible legal ramifications. As long as that officer has the right permits/licenses and are hired as an armed guard, they can carry a gun. I work in a casino and all the perimeter officers and supervisors carry a sidearm.
sorry guys, I guess I'm mistaken, this is "NEW" to me, but the LV casinos I've been too, and lots of'em, they never carried guns, like I stated, I guess I'm mistaken about "SOME" CASINOS.
take it ez, Tom in Ca.
wow. it takes some serious stones to do that. or just plain stupidity.
Some security, got to be better than than, the chief is responsible, should be replaced.
If a person is crazy enough to rob a casino, there is no amount of money a security guard is paid that warrants putting oneself in harms way. Let the scumbag go and allow surveillance cameras to identify and law enforcement apprehend the culprits as they did when the Bellagio was robbed a few years back.
Maybe it was a women that looked like a man.
Security in all the Las Vegas Resorts are now guest service more than security now. They are there to direct or escort you to your destination. Security has no power anymore due to the Corporations fear of being sued. Security can't even touch you unless you become a danger to yourself, guests or employees. There was a small gang fight (LV vs LA) at a Strip pool last weekend and all security did after breakingup the fight is escort both groups one at a time to their rooms. No arrests, no evictions. Security is all about observe and report. I am supprised more Casino Cages aren't being robbed.
"Is that the same as winning?"
To the casino it is.
Who gives a ratsass about this,,,, as it seems some casinos will do anything for publicity... How many people are around at that time of day that they would not see it or even the person doing this robbery.... Maybe it was an inside job.... Maybe it never happened....... Makes me want to run to the TI and start gambling.....wooohooo....lol
Stuff like this has been hapening ever since Bush destoryed the econimy.
Maybe if the TI was not so busy sweating and backing off card counters, they could focus on real casino crime like cheating, stealing, and brazen robberies like this.
I am sure the old billionaire with the hot Russian wife who owns the TI was not pleased to get this phone call in the late hours of the night...

Posting a picture of the scurvy pirate who took the booty and the bounty would be most helpful.
Someone's booty was plundered on the Las Vegas strip... but not in the good way.
