The company that has developed VEGAS.com into a leading travel booking website for the Las Vegas market has launched a similar site to guide travelers to vacation attractions in Mexico.
The site, Mexico.com, also is teaming with Mexican air carrier AeroMexico on promotions that not only will encourage Mexico residents to visit Las Vegas, but Southern Nevadans to travel to Mexico by way of Las Vegas.
VEGAS.com and Mexico.com are owned by the Greenspun family, which also owns the Las Vegas Sun.
The Mexico.com site will offer the same type of information – descriptions of Mexico’s top cities, air and hotel packages, popular attractions and beaches and nightclub and dining options – as VEGAS.com. The Mexico.com site will have the same searching and filtering capabilities that enable VEGAS.com users to find destination and hotel options based on amenities, location, pricing and ratings.
“Our devoted team of experts now has a significant focus on Mexico, making the capabilities on this site similar to those on VEGAS.com,” Howard Lefkowitz, president of VEGAS.com, said in a release announcing the launch of the new site. “By leveraging our existing hospitality technology platform, we have built a personalized site that is a one-stop shop for the perfect Mexican vacation.”
AeroMexico, Mexico’s largest domestic air carrier, is partnering with Mexico.com and expanded air service between Las Vegas and Mexico City and Monterrey, the carrier’s two largest cities.
In May, the airline began operating daily round trips linking Las Vegas to Mexico City and to Monterrey. The new frequencies and departure times enables AeroMexico to connect to 35 destinations in Mexico and eight in South America.
