1 After a lengthy absence, the monthly acoustic platform returned as a way for Holding on to Sound to repay a favor. On HOTS’ last tour, Archeology set up a show for the Las Vegans in Portland. 2 It wasn’t all acoustic. Archeology and California outfit Lakes opted to play fully electric, while the locals went unplugged. 3 Hungry Cloud’s Mike Weller debuted a new song, “A Life in the Sun,” while HOTS bassist Zabi Naqshband showed off some finger-plucking solo material. 4 The night featured a couple of interesting collaborations: Mad Caps frontman Ted Rader joined Skooners brothers Blair and Ian Dewane for a pair of numbers written for the occasion, while HOTS singer Bennett Mains received backing from The Core’s Brock Frabbiele on ... mandolin.
