Chad Griggs named as next opponent for Bobby Lashley

Former WWE star will face Strikeforce newcomer in August

In his sixth professional mixed martial arts fight, Strikeforce heavyweight Bobby Lashley will face newcomer Chad Griggs on Aug. 21 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Strikeforce officials confirmed the news early Friday morning.

Lashley (5-0) is coming off a first-round TKO win Jan. 30 against veteran fighter Wes Sims. The former WWE pro-wrestling star transitioned to MMA in 2008 and trains out of the American Top Team camp in Coconut Creek, Fla.

Griggs, 32, holds a professional record of 8-1, including a 1-1 mark in the International Fight League. Through nine fights, "The Grave Digger" has yet to go to a decision.

Strikeforce: Houston also will feature two championship bouts. Undefeated light heavyweight champion Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal will take on Rafael Cavalcante. Top contenders Jacare Souza and Tim Kennedy will fight for the vacant middleweight title.
