Man suffers life-threatening injuries in hit-and-run incident

Approximate site man struck

A 52-year-old Las Vegas man was struck and seriously injured Saturday night on West Lake Mead Boulevard, near Texas Station, by a car that left the scene, North Las Vegas Police said.

The man may then have been hit by another vehicle, police said.

Drivers reported the man down about 9:10 p.m., and first-responders found him with life-threatening injuries in the eastbound lane, between Simmons Street and Rancho Drive, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicated the man may have been crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit, police said.

Investigators believe the man was initially struck by a light blue Hyundai car. The car should have damage to the left front and is missing the driver’s side mirror, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555. Tips to Crime Stoppers leading to an arrest or indictment may result in a cash reward.
