It's been months in the making — well, three to be exact — and it's officially upon us: the first studio recordings by bluesy rock 'n' rollers The Rooks. The Vegas quartet will be back in former "resident" stamping ground the Griffin to celebrate the release of a self-titled, five-track EP. Singer Zach Ryan describes the project, recording at the home studio of Black Camaro's Brain Garth, as "pretty simple, not really a production. We just really wanted to maintain that live feel," he adds. The EP will cost $5 at the show, with profits going toward the group's projected end-of-summer tour.
Griffin With leather booths drenched in deep red tones and two fireplaces to sit around, The Griffin is the kind of place that makes you want to order something different than a Coors Light, something classier, something that you can drink out of a clean, neat glass. Regardless of what you’re drinking, The Griffin has quickly become one of the coolest spots in town to see and be seen, but not in a pretentious sort of way.
