Fire officials said Tuesday the Moapa wildfire was 75 percent contained and they expect to reach 95 percent containment by tonight.

The wildfire has burned 601 acres, destroying six homes and 14 other buildings, the Bureau of Land Management reported Tuesday. No other homes or buildings are in danger.

Warm Spring Road has reopened after being closed for several days to everyone except residents of the area.

Officials said fire crews now will concentrate on mop up, and most on-the-ground resources will be demobilized Wednesday. One hand crew and two fire engines will stay at the scene for the rest of the week.

No serious injuries have been reported as a result of the blaze.

Officials have said a spark from a wood chipper ignited the fire Thursday morning off state Route 168 about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
