A lightweight bout between Las Vegas-based Anthony Njokuani and WEC newcomer Maciej Jewtuszko has been added to the Aug. 18 card at The Pearl at The Palms.

According to sources close to the negotiations, both fighters have signed on to meet one another at the WEC 50 event.

Njokuani (13-3) is looking to bounce back from a first-round submission loss at the hands of Shane Roller in April. The 30-year-old striking specialist had strung together three consecutive TKO wins before the loss.

A win over Roller could have catapulted Njokuani to a rematch with current lightweight champion Ben Henderson. Njokuani lost to Henderson via submission in his WEC debut in January 2009.

The well-rounded Jewtuszko (7-0) has earned his way into the WEC with seven straight wins by stoppage, five of them coming in the first round.

The Polish fighter has fought twice in 2010, recording back-to-back first-round wins in May and June.

The WEC 50 card also features a bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez.

UFC 158
Nick Diaz fails to back up years worth of talk

UFC 158 A welterweight title fight that felt incredibly different wound up remarkably the same. Georges St. Pierre manhandled nemesis Nick Diaz with his wrestling. St. Pierre won every round on every judges' scorecard in Montreal for his sixth straight unanimous-decision victory. Diaz had preached his superiority over St. Pierre for years, but when he finally got his chance, he looked as helpless as all the other challengers to the 170-pound division's throne in the last six years. St. Pierre's consistency continued to amaze. Now it's on to Johny Hendricks, who defeated Carlos Condit in the evening's co-main event. Could he be the one to finally threaten St. Pierre?
