Woman killed in single-vehicle, rollover crash

A woman was thrown from a pickup truck and killed in a rollover crash Thursday on Interstate 15, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.

Trooper Chelita Rojas said no other vehicles were involved in the crash about 3:45 p.m. in the Moapa area.

The woman, who was a passenger in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene, Rojas said.

The male driver was trapped and had to be extricated before he was taken to University Medical Center, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s identity and cause of death after family members are notified.

Police have not determined what caused the truck to crash, Rojas said.
