Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter celebrated his 30th birthday last night and showered the nightclub crowd by “making it rain.” First, it was dinner at Lavo in the Palazzo with girlfriend Lauren Kitt and friends. The Backstreet Boy drank Belvedere Bloody Marys and dined on calamari, tuna tartare and chicken parmigiano.
Also spotted dining at Lavo was rapper Lil Jon, who enjoyed the popular Kobe meatball and chicken Marsala. Nick and Lil Jon both headed upstairs to the boutique nightclub for Label Junkie Wednesday, which featured a fashion show by the boutique Haute Chix.
Lovebirds Jamie & Jennifer
Over at sister restaurant and nightclub Tao in The Venetian, it was the 4th Annual Tao a Go Go contest at Worship Thursday with special guest emcee Jamie Kennedy. The actor and comedian arrived at the Tao red carpet with girlfriend Jennifer Love Hewitt and her mother Patricia after dining at Lavo.
Jamie immediately began hyping the crowd for the competition, but Jennifer Love wasn’t content to just sit on the sidelines and danced for the cheering crowd. Girl after girl took to the stage in pairs for the preliminary rounds in the club’s Opium Room before four finalists were chosen. Jennifer and her mom, who was once a dancer, helped to choose one of the finalists.
The girls headed to the catwalk in the main nightclub room, where they had a dance-off, with the crowd choosing the winner by cheers. The prize of $10,000 was awarded to Grace Atencio, a local cocktail server who said she was going to pay her mortgage and bills, and that “dancing is human nature.”
Nick continued celebrating his birthday with a VIP table at Tao. The packed club joined in helping him celebrate as a special cake was presented, and Nick even made it rain by spreading cash all over the nightclub.
