LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Reid puts good of the state and nation first

Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 | 2:02 a.m.

I want to thank Garrison Keillor, regarding his commentary published in Sunday’s Las Vegas Sun, for putting into words what I have been thinking for a long time regarding Harry Reid.

He is a good man who sometimes says something completely off the wall, but his intentions are well-meaning for Nevada and also for our nation. As majority leader of the U.S. Senate, he has to think for the good of the whole country as well as Nevada.

He is quiet, tenacious and honest, and I pray the voters remember these qualities against all the loud, finger-pointing sensationalists who can’t do any better than bringing up remarks said in private. There is no real scandal with Harry Reid, and I sincerely hope the voters see the difference between the “bullies” and this quiet “Clark Kent” who takes his job seriously without any fanfare.

Nevada cannot lose him — he is truly on our side.
