Stratosphere owner makes changes to board of directors
Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 | 1:13 p.m.
A member of American Casinos & Entertainment Properties' board of managers has resigned after less than a month on the job, according to a filing today with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Richard Powers resigned Monday, the SEC filing revealed. He had been a member of the board since Dec. 31. There were no known disagreements with Powers on any matters relating to the company's operations, policies or practices, the SEC filing said.
Powers serves as the managing director for Goldman Sachs & Co. Peter Weidman, also a managing director of Goldman Sachs, was elected to the board of managers in Powers’ place.
A spokeswoman for American Casinos & Entertainment Properties said the change came internally from Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs is an investor in the company.
American Casino & Entertainment Properties operates three Las Vegas-area properties, including the Stratosphere and the Aquarius Casino and Resort in Laughlin.

OK so now get some policy makers at the helm and fix these things that have gone wrong at their properties to bring the tourists back..
think they need some new blood at the strat - i use to stay there - found out during the nascar weekend coming up in feb - it would have cost me $250 plus the nascar tickets to stay. Use to be free - and I was having other people coming - going to have 4 rooms - so I said no way - they need to cut cost so tourists come backi - they are at the end of the strip and hard to get the foot walkers in there.
Love the Strat, hate the area
