Reid’s prominence is too important to throw away

I am a black American who supports Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Moreover, I echo Frank Beaty’s comments in his Tuesday letter to the editor, headlined “Apology not necessary for senator’s remarks.”
Some Nevadans need to reassess their opinions of our senator, because a state producing a Senate majority leader maybe occurs once in a lifetime.
In lieu of kicking the senator to the curb, Nevadans should be supporting him, as I will do.

The bases of our reassessment is that we have to give TOO BIG TOO FAIL Senator Harry Reid'm and weep a PASS for the smug smack down of the President.
Black American R.W. Burkett wants us to believe that Harry Reid does not understand the difference of the "House" Negro who is light-skinned and the Field Negro slave who is dark skinned is a stretch.
The Plantation Master was usually the father of the light-skinned house slaves.
Plantation Master Harry Reid has called upon LIGHT-SKINNED "HOUSE" NEGRO HARVARD OUOTA GRADUATE President Obama to "forgive and forget" and to say Master Reid is "A good Man [Reid] who has always been on the right side" and then say we have "Closed the Book".
Master Harry Reid said "I've been really -- my heart, I've -- has been warmed as to the response I've gotten [from DEMOCRATs] around the country," for accepting his apology for racial remarks.
Donna Brazile, one of the Democratic Party's leading black strategists, did her part Thursday to turn the page on what she called "the apology business," ....Backed by a panel of black spiritual and elected leaders at the Culinary Training Academy in North Las Vegas, she said the controversy needed no more explanation.

Why does Harry Reid need to bring out the big guns to protect his back?
Could it be because he is INEPT and making BLUNDERS every day. Yesterday Reid did this
The excise tax on high-value insurance plans exemption is less than $24,000 per family ($8500 for single).
But surprise State and local workers and union members are exempted.
Behind closed doors Harry Greid got the Union workers a $60 billion payback.
That is a lot of scratch for Greid to use for his re-election.
What Black American voter wouldn't want "hand out the goodies" Reid to remain in the senate ?
What I don't understand is that "hand out the goodies" actually means "get their vote and keep them in the ghetto", and the Black voters fail to see this.
Mr Burkett, did Harry have on a white sheet and was he holding a rope when you wrote this letter?
Thanks for the letter, keep the issue in the news and cost Harry even more votes! Remember he said "Negro". What Black voter wouldn't be proud to support him?

I will support on the IAP of Nevada for Clark County Commissioner races and for the IAP of Nevada candidates for state offices!

Harry Reid is willing to give undocumented aliens heath care and make the American citizen pay for it. He is also ready to give a state free health care to obtain an unconstitutional vote also to be paid by the citizens of the united states.
Harry Reid made a statement that the bill is not perfect but we will change it as we go. Have you ever known the Senate to change any bill once it is made law?
The Sun must be getting really desperate for letters to the editor, they keep printing all of the pro talk for Harry Reid. It has been noticably one sided.

But some of us who are not black are tired of the knee-jerk "racist" accusations flying around all the time. The term Negro was the acceptable term at one point of Harry's lifetime. The acceptable term for being black changes, and depends on whether you are black or white using it. Lately African-American has been the only acceptable term, even though Malcolm X used Negro, and other blacks used colored. Forty or fifty years from now somebody will be raked over the coals for using the term African-American.
What a bunch of nonsense.
Back in the seventies or so some people wanted to teach Ebonics (from ebony phonics) in schools. Now that term may be obsolete. Maybe I'm being "racist" for citing a term that at one time was not only acceptable, but that prominent black Americans demanded acknowledgment of. Maybe I'm being "racist" for saying there is a black American dialect, because I'm not black. Maybe only blacks can say that a black American dialect exists.
This is the level of absurdity that racial relations and issues has sunk to. Me, I'm glad to read this sensible letter by a sensible person.

I googled RW Burkett and he made a comment in a LVRJ column in Jan 2008 about the caucus. Of course you could be right, but I have no reason to doubt RW Burkett when he says he is a black person.
The same Sun staffer wrote the letter from Jan 2008.

Didn't Harry Reid pay for Ben Nelson of Nebraska's vote? How about Mary Landrieu of Louisiana's vote? This Reid is no more than a sleazy thief.

This letter to the editor is so pointless.

I am an American that does not support Reid because he has not done anything for Nevada and he has given away tax payer dollars to bride senators in other states while Nevada struggles. It's not always about race Stan.
I wish Stan would have the ability to write something of substance in his letter. Reid isn't getting the boot because of his stupid comment, he will get the boot because of corruption and his inability to serve the voters of Nevada.

Look for President Obama to make one or more trips to Nevada to campaign for Harry. An earlier trip by Obama to Nevada raised a couple million dollars for Harry....
Obama carried Nevada 55% to 43% in 2008.

I do find it a bit ironic that a teamster would call Republicans greedy though, after the Unions get an exemption from the Cadillac Health Insurance charge.
Yup, some animals are just more equal than others.
Its not enough that unions demand more money and more benefits but to be exempt from the taxes on their benefits just because they shovel millions to Harry and Obama.
