21-year-old Las Vegas man arrested on felony DUI charges

Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 | 11:07 a.m.

A Las Vegas woman was critically injured this morning in a three-vehicle accident at South Las Vegas Boulevard and East Wynn Boulevard.

At about 4:10 a.m., a Chevrolet Cobalt struck the curb at the southeast corner of the intersection of South Las Vegas Boulevard and East Wynn Boulevard. The Chevrolet Cobalt became airborne and hit two vehicles – a Chevrolet Malibu and a Lincoln Navigator limo – that were stopped at a signal on Wynn Boulevard, facing West.

The Chevrolet Colbalt then rolled onto its side, and a passenger was ejected from the car, police said.

The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, 58-year-old Karen Torian of Las Vegas, was transported to UMC with critical injuries. The passenger in the Malibu, 28-year-old John Carlo of Staten Island, N.Y., was not injured.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt, 21-year-old Michael McManus of Las Vegas, was arrested on felony DUI charges and was brought to the Clark County Detention Center, police said. The passenger in the Cobalt, Courtney McKeehan, 21, of Las Vegas, was transported to UMC with serious injuries.

The driver of the Lincoln Navigator limo, Yonatan Abrha, 30, of Las Vegas, was transported to UMC with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
