The rain has reached Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
A steady drizzle developed about 30 minutes before the Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race start time. Race organizers, however, are hoping it will have a minimal effect.
Drivers were scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m., but have been delayed at least 45 minutes to let the track dry. If the rain intensifies, the race could be postponed further.
But speedway officials will do all they can to get the race in today. To make the race official, 101 laps out of the scheduled 200 laps must be completed.
