About Suzanne Richardson: As a self-described event-junkie, Suzanne Richardson is perfectly positioned to get a regular fix. The marketing director for AEG Live – the second-largest concert promoter in the world – Richardson oversees marketing and publicity efforts for AEG Live concerts throughout Las Vegas, including shows at The Joint, including the launch of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits, Mandalay Bay Events Center, MGM Grand Garden Arena, Orleans Arena and Thomas & Mack Center. Responsibilities include buying media, coordinating promotions, securing press coverage, managing day-of-show activities and creating advertising materials, among others. Prior to joining AEG Live as a marketing and promotions consultant in 2007, Richardson was executive director of arena marketing and publicity for Jobing.com Arena – where she oversaw the marketing and publicity department for an NHL arena – and also previously served as president and owner of SLK Event Marketing & Management. She also has previous experience with FleetCenter, Harlem Globetrotters International and Super Bowl XXX Host Committee, where she launched her career in event marketing and management in 1995. “I love the thrill of an event, and the tingling sensation you get when it’s about to start and the lights go down and the fans get quiet,” said Richardson, who is involved with Boys & Girls Club and has initiated community partnerships with Three Square and the Andre Agassi Preparatory Academy.

The most important issue facing the valley: Hunger. I’ve done a lot with Three Square, and I just read in the paper that one in five children in Las Vegas suffers from hunger, and one in eight households.

My mentor and why: I have two. My old boss at the Super Bowl, because she taught me never to ask someone to do something you wouldn’t do yourself. And my old boss at Globetrotters, who taught me that when an event happens, it’s done and over.

Favorite Web site: www.facebook.com

Hobbies: Traveling, listening to live music and I hate to say it, but I’m a shopaholic

Fantasy job: To be paid to be a travel writer.

One-word description of self: Determined
