FLASH POINT:
Gibbons begging for public ridicule
Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 | 2 a.m.
The story of Jim Gibbons’ private life just keeps getting more bizarre. Generally, I think public officials are entitled to a zone of privacy. But when the not-yet divorced governor takes his long-suspected mistress to D.C., then is caught coming home by a KLAS-TV reporter and lies to Jonathan Humbert about being with Kathy Karrasch, who flees into a bathroom — well, that is just too much. Or, perhaps not enough. Karrasch contemporaneously posted pictures of the trip on Facebook and then, Thursday, posted a picture of herself with the governor and ... Mark Sanford, he of the Appalachian Trail by way of Argentina. It’s just too much too ignore — and soon, the national folks will be all over it.

The arrogance and hypocrisy of the Republicans knows no bounds. The prominent ones ignore their constituents and only want to enrich themselves at the expense of the middle class.

Jon did you forget that you are just posting a gossip column on politiacns.
Can't say as I much care who the Lov Gov hooks up with anymore, provided it's a consenting adult and the taxpayer isn't paying for it. Only a halfwit would hold any of our elected leaders up as moral examples. If he were doing what we pay him to do -- provide leadership & management expertise -- I'd be fine with him spending his salary in the Bunny Ranch if that's what he wanted to do!
Since when does Nevada pay Security to watch the Govs girlfriend? I also, enjoy how people think these reporters were hounding the gov. Perhaps he forgot people were coming into town for a little thing called " The Special Session." Why lie about things you don;t have to lie about. Did the platonic friends share a room in D.C. ?
This man appears to have mental health problems. When is he going to be removed from office by concerned citizens? It is beyond belief what people in this society put up with from politicians. We have terrible politicians because we allow anybody to stay in office. I have no doubt there are people in this state who would actually vote for this disturbed man again.
So what excuse, will Gibbo supporters use when he breaks his " NO new Taxes/Fees" promise? Gibbons still doesn't understand the word no. I guess will have to wait until June to see if the GOP wants to give Rory an early party.
