Age: 39
Current job: Chief estimator, Burke & Associates Inc.

About Dimitri Mihaloliakos: One of the general contracting industry’s youngest chief estimators, Dimitri Mihaloliakos has successfully bid on more than $300 million in projects on behalf of Burke & Associates, which he joined as a senior estimator in 2004. A long-time estimating professional, Mihaloliakos established a solid reputation in the construction industry prior to joining Burke & Associates, launching his career locally in 1996 as an estimator with Martin-Harris Construction, where he worked for three years before joining Haydon Building Corp. as a senior estimator in 1999. In 2000, he moved on to Jaynes Corp., where he served as a senior estimator until he came onboard with Burke & Associates six years ago. In his role as chief estimator, “I prepare all the estimates and all the sub-contracts review plans and meet with the clients and make sure that whatever they have a mind to build, we deliver,” said Mihaloliakos, who also provides general oversight for the estimating department, incorporating a fair amount of mentoring into the role. “I try and teach them the trade.” Mihaloliakos, who followed his father’s footsteps into the construction industry, donates his time and knowledge as a visiting professor for the construction science program at UNLV, and is also active in NAIOP and Vistage, the world’s leading CEO organization.
