About Angelica Silveyra: As a team leader in the customer service contact center, Angelica Silveyra manages a team of 30 call-center employees who are NV Energy’s first point of contact with customers. Silveyra began her career at NV Energy in 1993 as an administrative assistant in corporate communications. She quickly was promoted to customer contact coordinator for the company’s outlying offices. She was promoted again in 2000 to team leader for those offices. Silveyra currently manages the customer service department statistics, works with government affairs and corporate communications on customer-related phone calls and assists with employee coaching. She has also been instrumental in helping NV Energy with its senior and low-income energy assistance programs held throughout the year. Silveyra is fluent in Spanish and periodically appears on Spanish-language television on behalf of the company. She works with the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas, supports United Way of Southern Nevada and plays a role in the preparation of the annual Latin American Congress.
The most important issue facing the valley: I feel the most important issue facing our valley today is unemployment, which causes foreclosure and prohibits people from meeting their needs – paying electricity, gas and water bills, buying food and required prescriptions, etc.
My mentor and why: My friend Detra Page. She is a well-centered person, always fair and honest. She is a professional as well as a mother. She understands the importance of balancing work and family.

Hobbies: Spending time with my husband and sons. Also, serving as a volunteer to assist people in our community.
