Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 | 3:53 p.m.
Actress Gabrielle Union of ABC's "FlashForward" will serve as a co-host Tuesday morning in a live televised town hall meeting for high school students at Las Vegas City Hall.
More than 300 students from six area high schools will participate in the Ward 5 Teen Town Hall, which runs from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at city hall, 400 Stewart Avenue. It will be broadcast on KCLV Channel 2, the city's government access channel.
The students will discuss a range of topics facing teens, including peer pressure, depression, higher education and how the economy has affected their lifestyles.
Joining Union as host will be Ricki Y. Barlow, Ward 5 councilman, and Mike P., a local radio personality.
“I am thrilled that someone of Gabrielle’s stature will be able to join us as co-host for this very important annual event for our teens,” Barlow said. “Having a celebrity in our midst will not only be a treat for our youth but will put a spotlight on Las Vegas.”
Teen Town Hall will be rebroadcast on Cox cable Channel 2 at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at noon on Wednesday, at 7 a.m. Friday, at 10 p.m. Saturday and at 10 a.m. Sunday.
