Celebrities walk the blue carpet at Aria for the premiere of Viva Elvis.

By Don Chareunsy, Vegas DeLuxe editor

Mr. Vegas DeLuxe Robin Leach and videographer Trent Ogle were on the 90-foot blue carpet (in a nod to the Elvis Presley hit “Blue Suede Shoes”) for the world premiere of Viva Elvis, Cirque du Soleil’s seventh spectacular on the Strip, last night at MGM CityCenter’s Aria.

Check back to Vegas DeLuxe for coverage of the blue carpet, opening night of the song-and-dance show and the after-party at Haze. Our Senior Editor John Katsilometes filed his Viva Elvis post about the premiere for The Kats Report on the Las Vegas Sun, Joe Brown reviewed the performance, and Vegas DeLuxe posted a preview story on Thursday.

Contributing photographers Tom Donoghue, Scott Harrison, Erik Kabik, Glenn Pinkerton of the Las Vegas News Bureau and our favorite lady Denise Truscello get the credit and praise for our spectacular photo galleries.

In case you think the celebrities returned to Gold Lounge for more libations and skipped the debut performance, think again! Priscilla, her 23-year-old son Navarone Garibaldi, Justin Long, Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth, Wynonna, Josh Strickland and Holly, Perez Hilton, Andrew Dice Clay and his new wife Valerie Vasquez and William Fichtner were among the stars spotted heading to their seats shortly before the show started about 30 minutes late and, unfortunately, stopped after the opening number -- with the theater lights turning on -- after a fire alarm somewhere in Aria (or CityCenter?) was pulled.

Meantime, enjoy Robin and Trent’s work on the blue carpet that includes interviews with Carrot Top, Scott Weiland, Criss Angel, Rita Rudner, Guy Laliberte, Gene Simmons, Priscilla Presley, Holly Madison, Andrew Dice Clay, Perez Hilton, Neil Patrick Harris and Ryan Seacrest.

Priscilla shares with Robin what is the most emotional moment for her in the musical celebrating Elvis’ life and music, and NPH dissects Elvis' appeal to women and men.

Our December four-part Viva Elvis series included interviews with Priscilla Presley and Cirque founder Guy Laliberte, creative director Gilles Ste-Croix, director and writer Vincent Paterson and Robert F.X. Sillerman.
