The Ultimate Fighting Championship is suing a Web site operator it says is selling pirated broadcasts of current and past UFC fights.
Las Vegas-based Zuffa LLC, owner of the UFC, filed suit in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas on Thursday against Moazzam Gandu. Zuffa says Gandu lives in Stafford, Va., and runs the Web site www.rage-streams.net.
Zuffa complained that rage-streams is offering unauthorized "live streaming" video of UFC 110 for $6.99, even though the lowest authorized price for the broadcast of the event is $44.95.
UFC 110 is a series of bouts set for Sydney, Australia, on Saturday (Sunday in Australia).
Rage-streams also offers for sale unauthorized video of at least 40 past UFC events, Zuffa charges. Rage-Streams is profiting from these current and past broadcasts by selling advertising with them, attorneys for Zuffa said.
The lawsuit asserts allegations including copyright and trademark infringement, unfair competition and deceptive trade practices. It seeks a temporary restraining order barring rage-streams from providing unauthorized UFC broadcasts.
"Defendant's Web site is designed to trade off of plaintiff's goodwill," Zuffa's lawsuit says.
"Defendant is using a mark that is the same and/or confusingly similar to the UFC marks in connection with the sale, offering for sale, or advertising of services in a manner that is likely to cause confusion or mistake, or to deceive consumers as to an affiliation, connection or association with plaintiff, or as to the origin, sponsorship, or approval of defendant’s services or commercial activities by plaintiff," charged the suit, filed by attorneys Michael Feder and John Krieger with the Las Vegas office of the law firm Lewis and Roca LLP.
A request for comment on the allegations was placed with the defendant Friday.

I watched the Couture fight on my computer for free. It wasn't the website they are suing, either. I think pay per view is fighting a losing battle. I watched Manny's fight against Cotto for free, too. It was broadcast from Taiwan.
Sure, I had no clue what they were talking about, but who cares? The internet has changed things big time. Good, I hope the Fertitta's and the loudmouth White lose a bundle. They can sue and sue all they want, but the Internet is bigger than all of us...
It's ridiculous to pay for these cards. There are 1000s of sites that offer HD streaming of each event. Perhaps if it wasn't more than two tanks of gasoline to watch 2 hours of fighting, people would pay. Just like the music business, the gaming industry and everything else. Greed kills.
im glad the ufc is doing the right thing by sueing
Moazzam Gandu and not 15 year old kids watching streams.im all for people who cant afford to order a ufc event to watch a free live stream on justin.tv but i think Moazzam Gandu is a crook who doesnt deserve to profit by streaming content that is not his.
well i used to be a moderator on there chat before and also i used to go to there old site but they were a competitor site but i dont think that ajooba "moazzam" should go to jail after scheels is the one who did all the work also grave should go to just because ihate him "grave is the guy who streamed it" but its a pure lie they were only open for 8 months how they surpose to stream 40 ufc events look dana white is plain retarded....
It is ironic that Greenspan family sues Fertittas, investors sue Fertittas and now Fertittas get some of their own medicine. It sounds to me as if there are plenty of 'hot' broadcasts available if one choses to watch the Fertittas and White charade. At one time this type of fighting was the rage it will die out as all fads do and more importantly society may get a break and be rid of the Fertittas.
Fertitas family are crooks..............just check the facts...
Sound like karma to me.
Look what Station Casinos is doing to Green Valley Ranch Casino, diverting business to their wholly owned casinos and getting sued for it. A very desperate move by the Fertittas. What goes around comes around.
here is his fanpage i was going through facebook to see if i can get him.. i found this
