WASHINGTON -- Republican senatorial hopeful John Chachas is making the rounds in Washington this week as he builds his campaign bid to unseat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in this fall's election.
Chachas is the Ely-born New York investment banker who is tapping his own personal fortune to run in the June primary. Chachas quit his job recently to run for office full time.
While Chachas is building up a sizable financial warchest with his personal cash, his campaign has been slower to mobilize than other Republican hopefuls who have been working the state for the past few months.
Chachas was not scheduled to stop in at the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Washington, but he has been meeting with others in town, sources said.

He is what Jon Porter would call, a carpetbagger.
He's in DC or New York, but certainly not Nevada.
Chachas donated heavily to Barrack Obama in 2008!
We have had enough RINOs in this state!!
He is a carpetbagger!
republicans are desperate.
Who is the hell is this guy and why in hell would any of us vote for him?
I have some issues with Harry Reid but I am not into kicking him out in favor of another Say No and do NOTHING Republican
According to the LVRJ today Chachas donated $2300 to Barack Obama. Nice!!!!
