With Peepshow resuming its new look rehearsals on Monday, headline star Holly Madison had just this week to squeeze in the photo shoot of her 2011 calendar. The platinum blonde beauty texted me from Cozumel, Mexico, to report that it was the perfect location for the photography sessions.
“It’s such a stunning and beautiful place,” Holly said. “It’s perfect for the photo shoots.” Holly also has reality TV show cameras trailing her there for part of the upcoming new E! reality TV series Holly’s World set to air this summer. Her best friends Laura Croft and Angel, who appear in the series, are with her in Mexico, as is Peepshow co-star Josh Strickland.
Holly has two weeks of rehearsals with new cast members and co-star Cheaza Figueroa as the new Peep Diva. Cheaza is a former backup singer/dancer for Wayne Brady’s show at The Venetian. Peepshow resumes performances on March 1.

*Hometown Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil had a second birthday celebration last night, this time at N9NE Steakhouse in the Palms. A group of 18 friends including Zowie Bowie duo Chris Phillips and Marley Taylor with their respective dates out on a second double date, artist Michael Godard, hair king Michael Boychuck and yours truly made up the festive party. Owners Michael and Jenna Morton sent over won tons, sashimi and carpaccio to get the fun started. To top off the night, a giant chocolate sponge mousse cake with raspberry preserves was presented to Vince, who blew out the candles as we all sang “Happy Birthday.” Vince leaves in two days for a string of Midwest shows with his solo Vince Neil Band and then jets over the border for a South American tour. He returns here in April for a concert in Wendover.
Wicked whispers & racy rumors
I’m hearing bad tales of Las Vegas models getting caught up in agency shenanigans outside the normal modeling world duties. Which modeling agency is booking girls to be go-go dancers in Dubai and other places where brief clothing and body shaking displays are severely frowned upon? Which other modeling agency is recommending its models handle “escort” duties with Asian visitors? Which group of models claims that they earned $80,000 in tips looking after one set of foreign visitors for a play week in Vegas? This is not good stuff, folks, and there’s real fear that it’s going to blow wide open and backfire badly on our current fragile tourism business. … I have no idea if this is true, but JAM! Music reported today that Barbra Streisand rejected a $100 million Las Vegas offer to star in her own resident show here. JAM says the offer was made for her to take over the time slots left vacant by Bette Midler before Celine Dion’s return. Barbra is said to have elected instead to go out on another farewell tour this summer. … I never knew that you can’t buy or look at a new car in a showroom on Sundays because of an archaic law still on the books in Nevada, but it is OK to purchase guns or blow your life savings at the gambling tables.
*Entertainer Clint Holmes and his wife singer Kelly Clinton are spearheading a charity benefit show for their beloved musical arranger Bill Fayne, who’s battle with throat cancer led to him being placed in an induced coma for more than a week because of his diabetes. Clint in a note to me said: “The great news is Bill is now on a course toward full recovery, losing 50 pounds in the process but unable to work for several months and won’t be for some time to come.” To assist him during this obvious financial turmoil, the Suncoast Hotel is picking up all expenses for a concert to be held in the Suncoast showroom on March 6 at 2 p.m. Clint and Kelly will host the afternoon fundraiser with Las Vegas entertainers, with every dollar raised going to pay Bill’s expenses.
*One Republic put on an amazing show when they performed at Haze in CityCenter’s Aria and sang “Apologize” and the Gnarls Barkley hit “Crazy.” What was extraordinary is that they engineered a full set-up of two guitars, bongos, a cello and a glockenspiel, and to the delight of fans had mastered all the instruments.
