Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 | 3:55 p.m.
The supermodels of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition are headed to Las Vegas to unveil the lush, tropical layouts February 10, and rockers Maroon 5 will perform for them at the Hard Rock Hotel. The glamour girls also will visit celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse's Stadium sportsbook and grill in the Palazzo.
These are just two highlights of the schedule of more than a dozen public and private events here for the swimsuit models, organized by our Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. The top-selling edition goes on sale as they arrive here a week from tomorrow.
The Mirage is the official partner host for S.I. Swimsuit 2010, and its Jet nightclub throws the premiere night party. Vanity at the Hard Rock Hotel and Tao in The Venetian will host back-to-back marquee events featuring the 2010 swimsuit models on their three-day visit.
The supermodels first party at Provocateur in Manhattan before flying to Las Vegas. The first-night party at Jet will bring to life all the exotic Asian destinations used for the swimsuit shoots. The second nightclub party at Vanity will feature a performance by Maroon 5 as the supermodels parade on the main stage. It starts at 9 p.m. Feb. 11 and continues with a back-to-back blast at Tao at 1 a.m.
Additionally, select swimsuit models will make appearances for photos and autographs at locations throughout the city during launch week, including a meeting with Mayor Oscar Goodman.
