Person of interest sought in fatal North Las Vegas shooting

North Las Vegas police are seeking a person of interest regarding an October homicide.

Police are trying to find David Gonzales, 19, who they believe has information regarding the slaying of 23-year-old Daniel Torres. Last week police also were seeking a second man, who later came forward. That man isn't facing charges, police said.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Oct. 29, police responded to a report of gunfire in the 2200 block of Superior Position Street. When they arrived, officers found Torres in the street. He had suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates Torres was possibly involved in an altercation with multiple people, police said. Detectives don't believe the victim lived on Superior Position Street.

Police said witnesses reported seeing a Hispanic man in a white tank top limping away from the crime scene.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
