A body found Thursday near Lake Mead is not that of missing Luxor dancer Debbie Flores-Narvaez, Metro Police said.

The Clark County Coroners Office, in conjunction with the Mohave County Coroners Office, has identified the body but is not releasing the name until family have been notified, police said.

The body was found by two hikers, who said it appeared to have been burned, Thursday morning in the Kingman Wash, police said. The body was found on the Arizona side of the recreation area.

After the discovery, there was speculation that the body could have been Flores-Narvaez, whose roommate filed a missing persons report Dec. 14 when she failed to show up for dance practice and a show.

Flores-Narvaez, a dancer in Luxor’s “Fantasy” show, was last seen Dec. 12 leaving her apartment near Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue. Her car — without its license plate — was located in northeast Las Vegas on Dec. 16.

Flores-Narvaez, who has been in Las Vegas two years, worked for the Washington Redskin Cheerleader Ambassadors in 2007 and 2008 and, according to her MySpace biography, earned a law degree and has a bachelor’s degree in international business but decided to pursue her passion for dancing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro’s Missing Persons Detail at 828-2907 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
