Hot Spots: White Trash Christmas, DJ Hollywood Day, Sharam and more

Sharam

Mikey McNulty

Straight outta Tehran: Iranian-born Sharam brings his beats to Surrender on Christmas.

Sexy Santa Bash We’re pretty sure they want ladies in cute, fur-lined, red-velvet outfits at the next installment of the weekly Siren’s Song party, but we can’t help but wonder: What would a male sexy Santa look like, and can he compete, too? December 23, doors at 9 p.m., $5 cover, 18+ (or 21 to drink), DaVinci’s Muse, 2650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 1.

Winter Formal at Rumor You’re sick of ugly sweater parties by this point, so get dolled up like you did in high school (or better) and head to Rumor Thursday night. Guest DJ M!KEATTACK and Nite Visions spin the party sounds all night, and you can even get your formal pictures taken in the photobooth. Awww. Call Rumor at 877-99-RUMOR and mention “winter formal” for special room rates. December 23, 10 p.m., $5.

DJ Hollywood Day at Gold Lounge What do Lady Gaga, Frankie Anobile, Sgt. Pepper Live and DJ Hollywood all have in common? They’ve each been given an official day in Las Vegas. Help Hollywood (aka Leandro Vlastaris Jr.) celebrate his first dedicated holiday at Gold Lounge with an open bar from 9:30-11:30 p.m. December 23, doors at 5 p.m., $10 ladies, $20 men.

Annual White Trash Christmas Party at the Double Down Who needs midnight mass when you can drink juice called ass? Drown your sorrows with other Vegas holiday orphans to the sounds of The Vermin and Dangerously Sleazy. Previous years included a sign promising free SpaghettiOs (we’re still waiting). And since the “Happiest Place on Earth” never closes, just keep on drinking as they’re having a Christmas Bash the following day, complete with live punk rock from Shotguns n Gasoline, and a corn dog-eating contest. If we haven’t left by the 26th, send help. December 24, 10 p.m., free.

Christmas Cash Give Away Party at Club Tequila (at Fiesta Rancho) If you celebrate Christmas, you should really be spending time with loved ones this weekend. But then there’s the issue of not enough dough for presents … or booze. Stop in for your chance to win $500. We’re not sure what you’ll have to do for the cash, but desperate times call for desperate measures, so be prepared for anything. December 24, doors at 10 p.m.

Frosty’s X-Mas at Fort Cheyenne Events Center Ravin’ around the Christmas tree on Saturday night! Rick Remixx, DeMarco Cruz, MFKTZ, Kinekt, Stuntz, I Am Vandals and Nicro spin for the holly-jolly event. All responsible ages welcome. December 25, doors at 8 p.m. $15 before 9 p.m., $20 after. 2428 E. Cheyenne Ave.

Sharam at Surrender Purr with the Persians or talk freaky in Farsi as Iranian-American DJ/producer Sharam gears you up to get wild on Saturday night, plus an opening set by Faarsheed. December 25, doors at 10:30 p.m., $30 and up.

Andy Rourke at Crown The sun will go supernova before The Smiths reunite, so catch the seminal British band’s ex-bassist doing what he does these days: spin records (well, CDs and digital tracks). Expect a healthy does of the Manchester scene, along with all sorts of indie. Just don’t request hip-hop. “In the U.S., I get people asking me to play fucking Jay-Z, which I don’t have,” Rourke said last year. “And they get pissed off, as if you’re supposed to magic up a Jay-Z CD.” December 29, doors at 10 p.m., $10 locals, $20 nonlocals.
