Henderson police arrested a Wal-Mart assistant manager Tuesday accused of selling about $250,000 in stolen merchandise on eBay.

Jeromie L. Michener, 31, worked at the Wal-Mart store at 540 Marks St., near the Sunset Road and U.S. 95 interchange. He was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on suspicion of theft and burglary.

Police said he resigned from the store Tuesday morning before he was arrested.

Michener allegedly stole unopened electronics including computers, video game systems, televisions and portable automobile GPS navigation systems, then sold the items on eBay, authorities said.

Police said he set up a storage unit to house the stolen items before shipping them to buyers. Police said detectives found 54 portable automobile GPS navigation systems along with various video game merchandise.

Police said they also found a binder with shipping records showing more than 150 items were shipped in the past two months.

Investigators said Michener admitted to stealing about $10,000 worth of items from the store, but store officials and detectives suspect he stole about $250,000 worth of items over the past two years. Police said Michener could face additional charges.
