Nevada Highway Patrol troopers believe alcohol to be a factor in an overnight crash that killed a man near the Las Vegas Strip.

NHP trooper Joseph Fackrell said the accident happened at 2:51 a.m. in a construction zone on the Russell Road bridge over Interstate 15.

A Toyota Camry was eastbound in the westbound lanes of Russell Road when it was hit by a gray Scion traveling westbound, Fackrell said.

The driver of the Camry, a man in his early 30s, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Fackrell said. The driver of the Scion also was taken to the hospital, for injuries that weren't life-threatening.

Fackrell said the man driving the Camry wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The accident remains under investigation.

All roads in the area have since reopened.
