Fatal crash
A Henderson man who died Friday morning when his motorcycle slammed into the side of a van and burst into flames was identified this morning.
James Cosseboom, 21, was riding a Kawasaki Ninja westbound on Sunset Road near Whitney Ranch Drive about 10:20 a.m. when a van driven by Reynaldo Jantoc, 71, turned left in front of the motorcycle, according to Henderson Police.
Cosseboom crashed into the rear of the van and was ejected from his motorcycle through the right rear window of the van. The motorcycle caught fire, and nearby witnesses attempted CPR on Cosseboom, police said.
He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center's trauma unit, but died on the way to the hospital.
The van's occupants, which included a 2-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, escaped the vehicle without injuries. The van's driver hasn't been charged, but an investigation is ongoing, police said.
The Henderson Fire Department extinguished the burning vehicles.

shoulder check people. I see it all the time, lazy idiots that change lanes without shoulder checking because they are LAZY or have a cell phone on their ear.
must have been going pretty fast to go threw the rear window.
There is not enough infomation at this time lets just wait until the police report comes out.
You should have to take a new driving test at 60 let alone 71.
Yes, motorcycles are dangerous. Yes, you take a chance riding them. However, they're not going away and they every right to the road as you do.
Same old story here, left turn in front of a motorcycle by an elderly person.
The right-of-way laws need to change. This person took a life by not paying attention. He'll walk away with a small fine.
That's what bothers me. Unless you've been drinking, a person can kill another person in a vehicle and basically get away with it. I've never understood this. There is no such thing as an "accident" if something can be a avoided.
This doesn't sound like the typical "left turn in front of a motorcycle". This sounds like the motorcyclist was following the van, which might imply this rider was following too close, or at too high a rate of speed. I hate to speculate, but a 21 year-old on a sportbike gives me an idea.
In re-reading the article, I may be mistaken about the rider following the van.
Anyone who rides a motorcycle in this city should probably be institutionalized. WAY TOO DANGEROUS.
just too many moronic drivers on the road...and outlaw talking on cell while driving. Hands free only. It's ridiculous that a city like Las Vegas allows it. The most liberal city in the free world NYC has hands free only law.
Anyone who thinks Las Vegas should follow then lead of the supposed "most liberal city in the world" should be institutionalized.
Fewer laws = freer people.
Chunky says:
Distracted drivers of autos are a major problem for two wheeled riders whether they are motorcycles or bicycles.
Chunky doesn't want the government sticking it's nose in peoples business but we have to do something to encourage or force drivers to not talk on the cell or text while driving.
That is what Chunky thinks!
He road a ninja ex 500 and i dont think he had his class m
