Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 | 2:47 p.m.
A charity golf tournament on Sept. 9 at the SouthShore Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas will raise money for local schools.
The outing, sponsored by Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort and DonorsChoose.org, will begin at noon for an 18-hole, four-person scramble golf tournament. An awards barbecue and silent auction will follow.
Entry is $150 per golfer or $650 per foursome and limited to the first 144 players. The fee includes green and cart fees, lunch, dinner and gifts provided by Titleist.
Proceeds will pay for books, art supplies, technology and other resources for Nevada students through DonorsChoose.org, a nonprofit website where public school teachers post their funding needs and donors can choose a project to support.
Interested parties can call 702-567-6055 to register.
